I am not just a hairstylist.
I am a hair coach.
I have been doing hair for over 15 years, but I became a licensed stylist 7 years ago. The first time I realized that I had a gift for hair was when I was 10 and braided my own hair for my 6th grade graduation. Looking back those braids were awful, which is probably an understatement, but doing those was the beginning of a spark that would change my life, but doing those was the beginning of a spark that would change my life. Most of my teenage years were spent doing hair. Styles ranged from micro braids (yes, micro) to sew-ins. I created a rule that if I couldn’t do it on myself, then I wouldn’t offer it to others. So, I practiced and practiced and practiced!
I began taking cosmetology courses as a junior in high school through dual enrollment. Initially, I wanted to be a sigh school English teacher (and boy am I glad I didn’t do that!). I graduated in 2014 with my Associate Degree from Saint Paul College. After spending a few years in corporate jobs, I decided to take a chance on being a full-time stylist and put my license to use.
