But you can refer to me as Aubri the Hair Coach.
I’m not just a hairstylist — I’m a hair coach, educator, and purpose-driven leader committed to elevating the beauty industry.
My journey started at just 10 years old when I braided my own hair for my 6th grade graduation. Those braids weren’t perfect, but they sparked something in me that would shape my entire life. By my teenage years, I was fully immersed in hair — teaching myself everything from micro braids to sew-ins. Early on, I created a personal standard: if I couldn’t master it on myself, I wouldn’t offer it to others. That discipline built the foundation for the excellence I stand on today.
I began my formal training through dual enrollment in high school, originally planning to become an English teacher. But purpose had other plans. In 2014, I graduated from Saint Paul College with my Associate Degree in Cosmetology, and after a brief time in corporate America, I made the decision to fully step into my calling.
Today, I am the founder and CEO of The Curl District Hair Salon, a luxury textured hair salon in Saint Paul designed to desegregate the beauty industry and introduce everyday women to intentional luxury. What started as a vision has grown into an award-winning brand recognized by the Saint Paul City Council, and a space where education, experience, and empowerment meet.
Beyond the salon, I am a licensed cosmetology instructor, the founder of The Beauty and Barber Coalition, and a coach to beauty professionals who are ready to elevate their craft and their mindset. I’ve created digital resources and am expanding into courses, events, and community experiences that push the industry forward.
With over 15 years of experience, my work goes far beyond hair. I help women and beauty professionals build confidence, embrace discipline, and walk boldly in purpose — because true transformation doesn’t stop at the chair.
